new name...the story

Hello, my faithful readers! How are you today?
I have been working on yes, you guessed it, the blog! I'm sure you noticed that the name at the top is definitely not the same. Don't worry, you're in the right place! It's just different!
I felt like the name "Finding the Fabulous in Life" is not me. Yes, I absolutely love the word fabulous, and I do like to enjoy the little things in life. But the name's not right. Positively not right. I suppose you could say it was a "filler". Not the name I had always pictured my blog being graced with. It seems too full of heaviness. Too long, too much. It's just not right.

Frills. When I hear that word I think, flowery, lacy, girly, lovely...And that's why I've named my blog, frills. It seems fresh, more to the point it, seems so full of life. Full of fun, smiles, vivid-ness, it's frilly. I don't know how one word can possibly communicate so very much, but it absolutely can! And frills, does indeed to that! I want to focus on enjoying little things in life, finding the common and everyday things, and enjoying them. I want to in a sense start afresh. Which sounds odd, seeing as I just started this little blog. I want to focus on the everyday. The fun I had at the park with my little sister, or the music that lifted through the speakers of my computer as I was studying today. It sounds trivial and some could say stupid. But it's not. Being thankful for the little things can be so fun, so uplifting.

Frills, although one little tiny word, tells a story. It's simpler. But it's much more complex.

It's still my blog, I'm still Kimberly. And it's still my ramblings on, but it's at the same exact moment, so much more. I know life is not always frilly, and neither is it fun, but that is why I want to love and enjoy the parts of life that are exactly that-frilly.

So, I would like to introduce to you, my blog,

Frills.

There's a girl. Her name? Emily. She has cancer. And she is fighting. Fighting. Fighting this sickness. And we need to pray along with her that she wins the battle. So head over to my side bar where you can click on her blog link, and go check out her blog. She needs our prayers. {You can also click HERE to view her blog}

my fabulous vacation -part 3

Here's part three!

On one of the nights we were there, they had western night!
There was a lot of fun stuff you could do....

Horse back riding...

Face painting...

This weird {but fun} green thing, where you run around in circles in...
Square dancing...
and...
Root beer floats
Pop corn
A mella drama put on by the Horn Creek staff
Singing
And a lot of laughter and fun! And by the way, have you ever been square dancing? It's actually quite fun! I was beyond horrible at it, and probably embarrassed myself for eternity, but it ended up being a blast!

Of course even when we're away from home, the boys always seem to find some sort of either gross or semi-interesting creature. This time, they managed to find frogs. One of their friends had gone fishing that day, and brought each of the boys a frog...which was so sweet of him, but ew. There were lots of them. And they were green. And slimy. And...well, they were frogs...need I say more? =)

There were basketball tournaments...

A horse shoe Tournament...
Tether ball...

Pancake toss breakfast. They actually tossed you your pancake and you had to catch it on your plate!

And...
Water Slides
Swimming pools
White water rafting
A hot tub
A gym
A climbing wall
Game room
A gift shop
A snack Bar...

And much more!

And of course even with all of those fun things we did, there was a lot lot lot of time to just spend with friends.

I don't think I've ever had so much fun all in one week. It was absolutely positively amazing. I am so thankful to have been able to spend this week at Horn Creek. I felt like I learned so much. It was unbelievably wonderful. I spent time with friends, learned so much more about Jesus Christ, had {awesome} food, and had the best time of my life! I can not wait until next year! I'm already excited for it!!

It was wonderful. Simply wonderful.

my fabulous vacation -Part 2

{In the car, on the way to Horn Creek}

Here is part 2 of our trip!

Enjoy!

We got to go to this small town rodeo, and it was so so much fun. Friends. People getting thrown off of bulls. Plaid shirts every where you look. Horses, which minus the smell are great. Pop corn. Nachos. You can't get much better then that!
Lovely mountains...every where you look!

Wooohooooo! Almost there!

We had so, so, so, so, much fun at Horn Creek! It was amazing. I felt like I learned so much. The speaker, Rut Ethridge, was out standing. My class' teacher, was so much fun! Alissa is a college student and she did a fabulous job. Our class had devotions every night together before lights out, and each night someone came and shared their testimony. I can't tell you how encouraged and uplifted I was after devotions every night. It was really inspiring to hear each testimony...and I am so thankful I was able to hear them. I really pray that everything I learned over that week, really sinks deep in my heart. It was so amazing. The best week of my entire life!
Cousins!
Decker....every one's best friend!

Hanging log. In the lodge, they hung this huge log from the ceiling, and had two people come and sit on it. You hit each other with pillows, and your feet can't touch the floor. It was so funny to watch everyone! Although, needless to say, I was not one of the ones to do it. No thank you, I'll just watch!! It was hilarious!

Yeah Heidi and Tava!

On our 'free day', when we didn't have any classes or lectures, while most went on 9 mile hikes, we went to westcliffe, and had lunch, went to different little shops, and had a blast!
We went to this 'rock store'. And it was pretty cool. They had lots of geodes and minerals and of course lots of amazing rocks. And they were all really cheep! I hot a cute pink necklace, and the boys got nine different minerals. Very fun!

Some fun chairs outside one of the shops
Josiah and a statue, reading the Sears catalog.
Flowers, outside of a shop in a window box

An old theater

(I'll get part three up as soon as I can!!)

my fabulous vacation -Part 1

{In the car, on the way to the lake}

Hello! So, did you all survive with out me? I'm sure you did...at least I hope so! No, just kidding. I know I was gone longer from the blogging world then I said I was going to be, and I am SO sorry! Life is just really busy at the moment. But I'm here now. And here's a glimpse at our amazing vacation!

Here's Lake George. It was amazing. I literally gasped as we were driving up. To some, it may not look like anything at all, just a bunch of water in a hole. But it was just. wow. Pictures can't even describe it. All I could do was look around me. And try to take it all in. All the while just thanking God for his creation. The beauty of it all. Wow.

Here's the cute little bait shop we went to. Minus the worms and the gross little fish eggs, it was a pretty cute little place.

The inside of the cabin we stayed in. Very small but adorable. It had one bathroom two bedrooms, a kitchen, a table, a fire place, a couch. It was so cute!

The view from one of the windows. It had a huge deck. It was wonderful.

Here's Caleb and I, waiting for a fish!
Here's one of my {three} fish! I had a lot of fun, but at the same time it really grossed me out to see this poor little fish stuck on this hook. But I had a lot of fun!
Reeling 'em in!

Another fish!
And because I love all of you, I am posting this embarrassing picture of me grossing out. Seriously, I got so grossed out I started crying!

Simply.

Beyond.

Gorgeous.
