what happens when you put a city girl in the middle of a farm?

Well, that's exactly what I figured out last Friday. And yes, I even had fun! Apparently, putting a city girl in a farm isn't as harmless as it sounds!

Having fun in the car...it was a LONG drive!

Moriah and Josiah in a cute little corn maze

Aubrey and the Rooster...America's cutest couple!
"And it's all freaky freaky fresh...WORD!"

This, my friends, is how to sit upon a car....with STYLE!
Any place that has a PINK tractor has to be good!

Whilst I was out of my element, I did learn several things...
Rules are totally made to be broken....
Corn can be gorgeous!
Yellow Brick roads really do exist
Some people find mountains of dirt good entertainment...
When you ask a ten year old to look like you're having fun, this is what you get...

I also learned...

Ducks like to drink from holes in hoses...
Big huge balloon things attached to the ground are awesome....

and...

Even though most the time I'm more like this...

It can be really fun to get a little crazy, try different things...and dare I say it....get a little dirty!

Isn't that right Mr. Rooster?

So, when you put a city girl in the middle of a farm, she may scream a little, she may get a bit grossed out by all the bugs, she may not like all the dirt, but she may also have a lot of fun!

my fabulous vacation -Part 2

{In the car, on the way to Horn Creek}

Here is part 2 of our trip!

Enjoy!

We got to go to this small town rodeo, and it was so so much fun. Friends. People getting thrown off of bulls. Plaid shirts every where you look. Horses, which minus the smell are great. Pop corn. Nachos. You can't get much better then that!
Lovely mountains...every where you look!

Wooohooooo! Almost there!

We had so, so, so, so, much fun at Horn Creek! It was amazing. I felt like I learned so much. The speaker, Rut Ethridge, was out standing. My class' teacher, was so much fun! Alissa is a college student and she did a fabulous job. Our class had devotions every night together before lights out, and each night someone came and shared their testimony. I can't tell you how encouraged and uplifted I was after devotions every night. It was really inspiring to hear each testimony...and I am so thankful I was able to hear them. I really pray that everything I learned over that week, really sinks deep in my heart. It was so amazing. The best week of my entire life!
Cousins!
Decker....every one's best friend!

Hanging log. In the lodge, they hung this huge log from the ceiling, and had two people come and sit on it. You hit each other with pillows, and your feet can't touch the floor. It was so funny to watch everyone! Although, needless to say, I was not one of the ones to do it. No thank you, I'll just watch!! It was hilarious!

Yeah Heidi and Tava!

On our 'free day', when we didn't have any classes or lectures, while most went on 9 mile hikes, we went to westcliffe, and had lunch, went to different little shops, and had a blast!
We went to this 'rock store'. And it was pretty cool. They had lots of geodes and minerals and of course lots of amazing rocks. And they were all really cheep! I hot a cute pink necklace, and the boys got nine different minerals. Very fun!

Some fun chairs outside one of the shops
Josiah and a statue, reading the Sears catalog.
Flowers, outside of a shop in a window box

An old theater

(I'll get part three up as soon as I can!!)

josiah- the 2,920th day of his life...other wise known as his 8th B-day!

Josiah's b-day, was an extremely amazing day! We started the day off with presents from Moriah, Caleb, and I. I'm pretty sure he liked them...See his face?

And, after seeing that he was the owner of a hex bug set, he proceeded to jump around the house...

Wow, there's some excitement for ya! =) Then, after he opened the presents from us, and ate breakfast...it was time to get ready for his little party! He wanted to have some of our neighbor friends over for lunch and some games, then he wanted to go see toy story three with grandma and grandpa and of course, the rest of us.

For lunch, he wanted to have hot dogs, mac and cheese, watermelon, chips, ice cream and brownies. Here he is being bored before our friends got here!

Here's the table all ready for the par-tay!

Look who's here! Ready for a party guys?

Time for lunch!

Presents from friends...More hex bugs!

Brownies and ice cream!

Musical chairs! They all landed up in the same one!

After dad got home from work, we went to go see....
It was such a good movie!!

Then we went to grandma and grandpa's house so Josiah could open presents form grandma and grandpa and mom and dad
More hex bugs, his very own mug, an awesome flashlight, lego stickers, a wallet...and more!

What a fun day! Happy birthday Josiah!
