true confessions...

Confession: I'm supposed to be doing science home work right now, I'm not. :) But it's ok, my mom said I could take a break...I'm not that evil!

Confession: I haven't practiced piano yet today, and I so desperately need to.

Confession: I really, really, really, really, want some more outfits..."it's almost Christmas, Kimberly, you can wait till then!" But I'm really selfish, and I want them now.

Confession: I threw a fit today...yes, I know I'm a baby. But I needed to get it out of my system. {And in my defense, it was for a good reason.} Now I should be good for oh, at least a day, maybe two. Seriously. I'm not kidding.

Confession: I want to make my blog "public" so y'all don't have to keep logging in. Wouldn't that be so nice? Plus, then...maybe more people would read it?

Confession: I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really...miss our old camera. (REALLY!) It was one of those awesome dslr kinds. Adore! My dad says that we're going to get a new one...I hope so!

Confession: I...am running out of confessions. :)

i would be....

If I were a gemstone, I’d be a diamond.

If I were a scent, I’d be the smell of flowers, any kind .

If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be high-fashion heels.

If I were the weather, I would be a shower of sunshine.

If I were a facial expression, I'd be a sheepish grin.

If I were a car, I'd be....a pink one.

If I were a time of day, I’d be the early morning light.

If were a month, I’d be December.

If I were a place, I'd be the Eiffel tower, looking over it's city.

If I were a liquid, I’d be water flowing from a water fall.

If I were a taste, I’d be an iced mocha.

If I were a sea animal, I’d be a star fish.

If I were a food, I’d be chocolate.

If I were a color, I'd be a faded pink.

If I were a musical instrument, I would be the strings of a guitar.

If I were a flower, I’d be a daisy.

If I were a song, I’d be the song that sounds so beautiful, it would make you want to cry.

If I were a planet, I’d be earth.

If I were an object, I would be an old vintage book.

If I were a fruit, I'd be a raspberry.

If I were a sound, I’d be the sound of the ocean crashing on a beach.

If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday.

But, since I'm not any of these things, I suppose, I shall have to settle with being me, and that's just fine. But, I have to wonder, what would you be?

what happens when you put a city girl in the middle of a farm?

Well, that's exactly what I figured out last Friday. And yes, I even had fun! Apparently, putting a city girl in a farm isn't as harmless as it sounds!

Having fun in the car...it was a LONG drive!

Moriah and Josiah in a cute little corn maze

Aubrey and the Rooster...America's cutest couple!
"And it's all freaky freaky fresh...WORD!"

This, my friends, is how to sit upon a car....with STYLE!
Any place that has a PINK tractor has to be good!

Whilst I was out of my element, I did learn several things...
Rules are totally made to be broken....
Corn can be gorgeous!
Yellow Brick roads really do exist
Some people find mountains of dirt good entertainment...
When you ask a ten year old to look like you're having fun, this is what you get...

I also learned...

Ducks like to drink from holes in hoses...
Big huge balloon things attached to the ground are awesome....

and...

Even though most the time I'm more like this...

It can be really fun to get a little crazy, try different things...and dare I say it....get a little dirty!

Isn't that right Mr. Rooster?

So, when you put a city girl in the middle of a farm, she may scream a little, she may get a bit grossed out by all the bugs, she may not like all the dirt, but she may also have a lot of fun!

the sign of the ring tone

Sigh, one question, why is it that every time I blog I feel I must say sorry for not posting enough? You'd think I'd learn my lesson, but that never seems to be the case. So, as I wonder what exactly I should start this post with I suppose I shall start with the unintentional but mandatory...

Sorry I haven't been posting. And no, I don't have a good excuse. =D

Alrighty, now that that's out of the way, I have, have, have to write this post that I've been wanting to write for well, ever. Ok, a month. But still, forever.

I've been wanting to introduce to you....

MY VERY OWN CELL PHONE!!

Yes, you read it right, but since I like saying it, I'll repeat it......

MY VERY OWN CELL PHONE!!

Yes, it came complete with a....
Slide out key board
A built-in camera
A texting plan (!!!!)
An adorable pink case
And SO. MUCH. MORE!

Excited yet? Me too!

And yes, it was a total surprise. I was out shopping with my mom, and when I came home, I sat down at the computer to check my email, and suddenly, a phone started ringing. I'd never heard that ring tone before, but I figured my dad just changed his. But, I looked over and there was a pink phone. And it was my dad calling to tell me about my phone. It was awesome.

I think the real reason my dad finally gave in and got me a phone is because a couple of months ago, my mom forgot what time to pick me up at school and she was an hour late, and even though I called her with the office phone, it would have been nice to have my own. =)

So, now I'm the proud owner of my own phone. Oh the joy!

Love you all.

And, I suppose I shall also close with the mandatory....

I'll shall try to write again soon! =)

Oh and by the way, sorry about the hideous shirt in the pictures...I had just gotten home from school, and we have to wear uniforms, they actually not that bad....and also, the pictures are really bad cause I took them with my web cam...=)

new name...the story

Hello, my faithful readers! How are you today?
I have been working on yes, you guessed it, the blog! I'm sure you noticed that the name at the top is definitely not the same. Don't worry, you're in the right place! It's just different!
I felt like the name "Finding the Fabulous in Life" is not me. Yes, I absolutely love the word fabulous, and I do like to enjoy the little things in life. But the name's not right. Positively not right. I suppose you could say it was a "filler". Not the name I had always pictured my blog being graced with. It seems too full of heaviness. Too long, too much. It's just not right.

Frills. When I hear that word I think, flowery, lacy, girly, lovely...And that's why I've named my blog, frills. It seems fresh, more to the point it, seems so full of life. Full of fun, smiles, vivid-ness, it's frilly. I don't know how one word can possibly communicate so very much, but it absolutely can! And frills, does indeed to that! I want to focus on enjoying little things in life, finding the common and everyday things, and enjoying them. I want to in a sense start afresh. Which sounds odd, seeing as I just started this little blog. I want to focus on the everyday. The fun I had at the park with my little sister, or the music that lifted through the speakers of my computer as I was studying today. It sounds trivial and some could say stupid. But it's not. Being thankful for the little things can be so fun, so uplifting.

Frills, although one little tiny word, tells a story. It's simpler. But it's much more complex.

It's still my blog, I'm still Kimberly. And it's still my ramblings on, but it's at the same exact moment, so much more. I know life is not always frilly, and neither is it fun, but that is why I want to love and enjoy the parts of life that are exactly that-frilly.

So, I would like to introduce to you, my blog,

Frills.

my fabulous vacation -Part 1

{In the car, on the way to the lake}

Hello! So, did you all survive with out me? I'm sure you did...at least I hope so! No, just kidding. I know I was gone longer from the blogging world then I said I was going to be, and I am SO sorry! Life is just really busy at the moment. But I'm here now. And here's a glimpse at our amazing vacation!

Here's Lake George. It was amazing. I literally gasped as we were driving up. To some, it may not look like anything at all, just a bunch of water in a hole. But it was just. wow. Pictures can't even describe it. All I could do was look around me. And try to take it all in. All the while just thanking God for his creation. The beauty of it all. Wow.

Here's the cute little bait shop we went to. Minus the worms and the gross little fish eggs, it was a pretty cute little place.

The inside of the cabin we stayed in. Very small but adorable. It had one bathroom two bedrooms, a kitchen, a table, a fire place, a couch. It was so cute!

The view from one of the windows. It had a huge deck. It was wonderful.

Here's Caleb and I, waiting for a fish!
Here's one of my {three} fish! I had a lot of fun, but at the same time it really grossed me out to see this poor little fish stuck on this hook. But I had a lot of fun!
Reeling 'em in!

Another fish!
And because I love all of you, I am posting this embarrassing picture of me grossing out. Seriously, I got so grossed out I started crying!

Simply.

Beyond.

Gorgeous.

a job for y'all and a small update

Hey Bloggy world, I am back. At least I hope I am. Back, from what? Back from my little slump of not blogging. Except for that one little 'sorry I haven't blogged' thing...I haven't been writing. I could say I have been busy or I haven't had the time, but that wouldn't exactly be the truth would it? No. But I need to write. To blog. It's what I do. And lately I feel like I've really found that writing is what I do. Remember that post where I did 100 random things about me (part 1) and I said that I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grow up? I said that, because that whole week I was feeling like I had some idea of what I want to be when I grow up, but not exactly enough to know what I really want to be. But I feel like now, I finally know. Writing...is what I do. And i know it now.

But now to get to other other reason I'm writing this post....

I've just spent my entire morning look at blog design websites. See, I've been doing that because it seems like every design I put on my blog, it's never really me. I usually like them, love them. But they don't express me. Who I am, what I love. There are so many out there, and I want to find the absolute perfect one for this blog. Because if I'm going to write, I need a fabulously gorgeous place to do it right? That's where you guys, come in. If you have time, It would absolutely make my day if you could look at these three websites and pick a couple that you think say me. Back rounds that scream Kimberly. Scream writing, girlyness, fabulousness...scream what you think of when you think of me...or rather my blog. I would be so grateful!!! So, if you want to do this for me, go to this website this website and/or this website, pick your favorite back round, then comment here and tell me! I will then look through all the suggestions and pick my favorite! Oh and just so you know, lately, I been lovin' vintage, stripes, polka dots, and other ones that make you feel inspired. Thanks you guys soooo much!!! You're all the absolute best!! I can't wait to see what you all think!!
